I am not usually one for labels. The main reason for this being is they tend to stick quickly and stay around forever, becoming almost impossible to ever shake off forever more.
Being a proud furry faced individual, I've heard more than my fair share of labels and stereotypes over the year. From 'poopy beard face' to 'following a trend' and just about everything in between.
Labels are often dished out cold, usually without any real fact or sensible theory behind them to back up truth to the matter. Labelling all of us beardsmen as following a 'fashion trend' does piss me off a little, I am not going to lie. But I'm also not too ignorant to understand as to why such sentences can, and usually stick.
Now, as we are over a quarter of the way into the year that is 2017, our face fuzz has made the headlines once again for being 'trendy', 'cool' and a part of our 'fashion style'. Now, usually I would come out swinging from the rafters and defend our mutton chops vigorously, slandering such accusations. but come to think of it, in some cases there seems to be a high element of truth to such labels to be given in the first place.
