THE BEST ESSENTIAL 'NO SHAVE NOVEMBER' GUIDE FOR MAINTAINING AN OPTIMAL BEARD

When it comes to beard etiquette we often follow our own grooming routines. When doing so we can fall into easy to form mistakes that more often than not we don't even realize we are doing incorrectly. Today, I wanted to give you all a little advice that will serve you well throughout 'No Shave November' and beyond, and by following a few key pointers your beard will continue to grow at its absolute best all year round...

USING THE RIGHT SHAMPOO MAY PROVE VITAL!

I've discussed the many benefits of using the right products within your beard, but using incorrect shampoos and conditioners may have a detrimental effect to your beards wellbeing. Using harsh hair shampoo can easily strip your beard hair of essential naturally formed oil which will only add to beard dryness. Not only that, but you also run a high risk of causing skin irritation to that hidden face of yours below that glorious beard too. It can prove a little frustrating that you'll not usually find beard related items readily available in your local shopping mall (Look at me, being all USA correct!) but fear not. Everything you'll need to maintain your marvel of a beard can be found on our exclusive online store.

WASHING IS IMPORTANT, BUT DON'T OVERWASH THAT BEARD!

Keeping your beard fresh and clean is an important part of your grooming routine. But it's also just as important not to over-wash your beard. By all means, give your beard a good rinse with lukewarm water each day whilst showering, but try to only use your beard shampoo up to three times a week maximum. The reason for this being is overusing such products will overtime cause the same effect that using other shampoos has, stripping natural oils away from your facial hair, regardless of it's length.

BRUSH AND COMB THAT FACIAL FOREST FREQUENTLY!

Brushing and/or combing any knots out of your beard should be a steady part of any bearded mans grooming routine. In doing so this helps define, shape and control your beards growing direction. But like everything in life, too much can often cause more harm than good. When I have touched upon this topic in previous blog posts readers usually comment asking 'How much is too much?' My usual day-to-day routine with combing my beard is between 3 to 6 times in a day. Once in the morning when prepping my facial fuzz for the day ahead, then as and when it might be needed throughout the day to keep in shape, then once, maybe twice come the evening. My beard is very unruly and tends to quickly lose shape without any product being applied. For example after a shower it can take a little while for it to sit right. So combing/brushing a wild beard might take a little more time and TLC in comparison to someone who's naturally blessed with a straighter more manageable beard.

TREATING YOUR BEARD TO A DAILY HELPING OF BEARD OIL AND BALMS CAN ONLY BE A POSITIVE!

If you're a regular reader of the 'TBS' blog, first up...thank you very much! and secondly you've probably run a little tired of me expressing my points of the importance of using beard oils and balms. There are many readily available products online, but treat yourself to a premium beard oil (much like our 'The Beard Struggle' range!) as in doing so, if your beard could speak out loud it would most certainly thank you for it! Using beard oils help keep your skin and beard hair well hydrated, which in turn eliminates beard dryness and lowers your chances of experiencing high levels of split ends. Our range help repair these troublesome areas, whilst further boosting your beards growth rate. Visit our exclusive online store and read what our loyal customers have to say about our range.

Thanks for taking the time to read todays blog my friends. If you have a particular beard related topic or burning beardy question you'd like me to feature in a future blog post, then please leave us your thoughts in the comments section you'll find kindly provided below.
