LET'S TALK BEARD CARE: AND GO BACK TO BASICS

The internet can be a really helpful tool in our lives. It can grant you 'easy-to-follow' guides for just about anything these days, but on the flipside it can also lead you astray from time to time.

If, like me, you are easily distracted by the many 'suggested videos' on YouTube, that after originally visiting the site to search out a music video, you find yourself 2 hours later watching a man in his underpants burping the alphabet (no? just me then?) questioning how you ever got there in the first place, worry not. Because we have your back.

Because today I wanted to strip away all the fancy 'tricks, tips and fixes' when it comes to our beards and go right back to the beard care basics. So, we shall begin...

BE PATIENT AND KNOW WHEN IT'S THE CORRECT TIME TO TRIM!

Firstly, when you begin your epic journey to ditch the razor and grow out a beard of your very own, you have to be real patient. If you're hoping that after a long weekend of not shaving you'll wake one morning and suddenly be greeted by a 'pirate like' beard sat upon your face, you are going to be sadly disappointed, my friend.

Beards take time to grow, and this widely differs from man to man. It's all about sitting tight and letting a solid few months tick by before you're going to see any real results. Yes, your friend 'Joe' from work might grow out his face whiskers quicker than you, but hang in there, Brother. Your time will come soon enough.

KEEP THAT BEARD CLEAN USING THE RIGHT PRODUCTS!

I honestly believe it is never too early to begin practicing a healthy beard grooming routine. If you're as committed as you should be to flourishing your face forest, a deep face wash with the right products are certain to help.

If you already pack a beard a Viking would be proud of then you probably already run a pretty tight ship when it comes to keeping things clean. But please note, ALWAYS use beard wash and conditioners only. If you choose to use over the counter shampoos the chances are you could be causing both your beard and your face below a whole host of unintentional problems that'll only crop up later on down the line to kick you in the ass.

BEARD OILS AND BALMS ARE YOUR BEARDS BEST FRIEND!

'Hi beard! meet your new best friend beard oil!' Yep, introduce you beard to premium oils and balms as soon as possible because you're going to reap the benefits of using a premium beard oil and /or balm whenever you choose to use them.

The reason why beard oils and balms are a vital part of a beardsmen's routine is simply because without using them, your beard will soon begin to look dry, itchy and unhealthy.

Keeping a healthy balance of balms/oils within your beard will fix any dry spots you may have, and will also lower the chances of split ends forming within your beard. So don't cut corners when choosing the right product to use. Trust 'The Beard Struggle'. You know it makes sense, my Brother.

IT'S TIME TO TRAIN THAT WILD FURRY FACE OF YOURS!

When your beard reaches a certain length it's time to begin to tame down and train those wild whiskers of yours. The simplest way to do this is to use a trusty beard comb and begin to follow the desired shape you are after before and after applying a touch of 'TBS' tonic and balm.

This will help loosen any knots or tangles that easily form within your beard, and will begin training your facial hair to follow the path you've set it on by combing. It is also good to remember not to overcomb as well. A couple of times a day as and when it is needed is more than sufficient enough.

So, there you have it! A tried and tested basic beard care routine that will firmly place you on the right track to sporting an impressive beard.
