Hello from the other side of the internet, and welcome back to The Beard Struggle beard blog! Your one-stop shop for almost everything you could possibly read on or and about a man and his facial hair.

Today I wanted to touch upon a subject that we haven't talked about for some time, and that subject is troublesome ingrown beard hairs.

So let us begin today's blog topic, smartly titled - Here's How To Deal With Ingrowing HAirs Hiding Beneath Your Beard...

SEEK THEM OUT FIRST AND FOREMOST!

So, you may think you're one of the lucky few who hasn't really had any issues with ingrown hairs? well, think again, as regardless of the shape, shade, size or style, you've probably had the odd lump, bump or spot appear under your face fuzz that may have been unnoticed.

Usually, they clear in a few days to a week, but those little irritable bumps you feel are most likely ingrown hair spots. Some of us suffer from them more than others, but what causes these to form in the first place?

Sadly, there are many reasons as to why we may get the occasional ingrowing hair. From poor skin quality to family genetics (although heavily debatable) or maybe a bad reaction to a grooming product you've just began using.

Thankfully there are ways around treating and finally eliminating them from coming back, so here's how to take back control of your face fuzz.

BANG! AND THE INGROWN HAIR HAS GONE!

First up, you can leave them alone in order to fix themselves, over time they will eventually begin to grow out, but they don't look all too pretty, and they often itch terribly too.

You could always invest in a pair of fine tweezers and gently remove any hairs that get stuck and need a helping hand of removal. Just tread carefully and don't accidentally go pulling at good hairs, otherwise, bald spots can easily and quickly begin to form.

So, discover the troublesome area first, before going in blindsided, as you might cause yourself more trouble than it is worth.

KEEP YOU FACE CLEAN AND BLEMISH FREE!

If you are suddenly experiencing higher than usual troubled spots and blemishes you might want to rethink your beard care routine.

You might be using a new product that doesn't work too great for you, or maybe you're overwashing your face fuzz? whatever might be causing this needs rectifying.

If there's nothing obvious to highlight then why not try an antimicrobial lotion, such as Eximol or Dermol which can be purchased over the counter to correct ingrowing hairs and skin health.

HOW CAN YOU AVOID THEM FROM RETURNING AGAIN?

When you've cleared up any outbreaks, you are going to of course not want them to return anytime soon.

But what can you do to prevent them returning? If you're finding the outbreaks appear where you are trimming or shaping with an open razor you might want to switch out your blade out from an electric trimmer, as it's a known default to wet shaving.

They key is not to trim any hairs too close to the skin, as this will lower sin irritation, therefore stopping any future outbreaks bead in their tracks.

Again, it is always recommended to wash your face forest frequently, but not to over wash it either. You can get away with rinsing through your beard a few times a week alongside a wash and conditioner every few days too.

Only ever use any products that have been specifically designed for your face fuzz, anything else you may use could have a reverse effect and cause you a whole host of problems, such as dry, flaky skin, to split damaged hairs. All very much not worth the risk in my honest opinion.
