Hello and welcome back to The Beard Struggle Beard blog!

When any man begins his beard growing journey you may suffer a few awkward, rather irritable stages before you reach your beard goals.

But the question on everyone's lips is do you really need to worry about trimming your face fur if you are growing out a longer styled beard?

So let us begin today's blog, titled - Here's How To Care For A Ling Growing Beard...

So, do you need to trim your beard in you are trying to grow it long? And the short answer is yes. Periodic grooming will help maintain your beards shape and prevents and split ends breakouts that could happen otherwise.

Here are a few tips I recommend you to follow to help further reach your beard growing goals...

KEEP THINGS CLEAN AND TANGLE FREE!

Brush up on your facial hair with a trusty beard comb and boar bristle brush, that'll help keep any knots and tangles to a minimum, and will grant better shape and appearance to your beard regardless of its length or style.

Also be sure to use only the finest products when it comes to cleaning, you'll find better results by using beard washes and conditioners. These products are specifically designed for the safe use of facial hair, and won't dry out or cause irritation to your sin hidden below the beard.

USING BEARD TRIMMERS IS RISKY, SO MAY I SUGGEST SCISSORS INSTEAD?

I hear many mistakes are easily made when using clippers. I myself have had a horror story when using mine many moons ago and accidentally got myself tangled, which in turn gave me the very little option other than to shave it all off and start over from scratch. Gutted is a huge understatement.

With scissors you can go more slow and steady, only removing small cuts at a time. Instead of taking the clippers and attacking the face fuzz, you can take the time to gently snip away at those straggly hairs that sit out of place without removing anything from the length.

STAY GENEROUSLY TOPPED UP WITH BEARD OILS & BALMS!

Regardless of whether you are growing or maintaining a certain length of beard, you'll still need to keep your facial hair protected, and you can do this by providing it with a premium beard oil and/or balm.

Having a well-groomed beard will feel soft to the touch, and promotes healthy, fast-growing hairs to flourish. This will also help condition your skin hiding below the beard, and help to eliminate dry spots from forming. Worth keeping in mind next time you select your next batch of beard balms, butters, washes, and oils.

CONCENTRATE ON BEARD SHAPE AND TRIMMING THE SIDEBURNS!

When you are trying to grow a long beard taking anything away from its length might seem like utter madness. But it is important to trim only ever so lightly every few months to better your beards shape and remove any splitting dead ends that might be hiding away in there as well. It doesn't have to be a huge chop, more of a light snip either carefully done by yourself in the comfort of your own home, or you can visit a beard barbershop that will know exactly what you're in need of.

Do tread carefully when visiting your local barber, as I have read and heard many horror stories of men having their face fur axed away by not being clear on what you are trying to achieve. Because if you are not clear on what you want there is a good chance mistakes can and often will be made. My general rule of thumb is never to trust a beard barber who doesn't have a beard himself. Whilst this might seem a tad harsh, it's something that I've chosen to stick with since having my face fur hacked off by a trainee apprentice in the past.

So, no man with no beard or any former experience of how to correctly care for a beard will ever grace the grooming duties a light trip ever again.

That sees today's beard blog come to a close for now, as always please let us have your thoughts in the comments section provided below.
