HELP! MY BEARD HAS STARTED TURNING GREY!

So, you step out of the shower one morning getting ready for the day ahead and notice something you haven't really paid much attention to until now. A wild grey hair or two has started it's journey of sprouting out from your beard.

But how could this be? Your hair isn't even slightly grey? you're not THAT old? so what's going on with your beard all of a sudden? And how fast will this often unwanted transition take to progress?

Firstly of all, let's try to relax a little. As I can guarantee you that It's not nearly as bad as what you might first think. Rather than view this as a bad hand of cards that have been dealt, view it as the complete opposite. After all, this is the ultimate transition to wizardry!

Gandalf The Grey from 'The Lord Of The Rings' movie franchise doesn't flap about his awesome white beard, but instead rocks out with a little jazz, and looks a million dollars in doing so in the process. The silverback gorilla also display their silver body hair as a sign of strength and sexual maturity, often becoming the leader of his troop.

There is of course the option to look into dyeing your beard, although I have very little knowledge in this department. Although I've heard both good and bad results from those choosing to use this avenue, so tread with caution.

If 'going silver' really isn't for you, then by all means, tread such waters, but if you ask me I suggest you rock the new silver look loudly and proudly. I've mentioned before in an earlier blog post that if I woke tomorrow and noticed my beard had suddenly (and rather miraculously) turned Santa Claus style white, I wouldn't sweat it in the slightest. My beard can be whatever colour my genetics have set out for it to be and i'll continue to rock it proudly. After all, this is my personal beard journey which is to be enjoyed, not shamed.

The world is a rather testing place as it is, we are expected to meet certain loopholes in society and fit into certain boxes of expectation. So, putting extra strain and stress on your shoulders about 'getting older' or grey hairs appearing before their time just seems rather petty and somewhat irrelevant.

Instead learn to embrace what you might otherwise view as a flaw and lead a happy life moving on forward. Having a grey beard isn't a sign of getting old, but instead a sign of wisdom. So, enjoy it my Brother, much like a tiger earning his stripes.
