4 TOP TIPS FOR KEEPING A TIDY BEARD WHEN EATING

Sitting down for a Sunday lunch with loved ones, grabbing a double cheeseburger and fries to go or maybe a slice of your favourite pizza to eat was once a simple task. But now you're a man, a bearded man and chomping down your nosh takes a little more time and thought considering you'll not want to be decorating your beard-mane with food crumbs and other day to day nasties. But fear not! with a few simple pointers you can still enjoy your chosen lunch with little to no mess! Here's our handy guide...

DON'T OVER PILE THAT FORK!

This might seem like a really obvious pointer to start with, but first and foremost don't overload that fork, spoon, spork or any other utensil your might be eating your lunch with. I'm a sucker for doing this when I'm hungry but in a hurry. (Mac 'n' cheese is extremely unforgiving in this scenario!). But keeping your fork/spoon load down a little helps control where that food will end up, preferably in your mouth and not buried into your mustache.

MAKE FINGER FOOD BEARD FRIENDLY!

Some of the tastiest foods on the planet do not require the use of cutlery but instead your hands. Whilst this sounds much quicker and more convenient to many this can prove somewhat tricky to us bearded fellows. First thing to do is make the food you're eating bite sized. For example a huge slice of your favourite pizza or a stacked dripping triple cheese burger aren't going to find your mouth without some splashing onto your perfectly groomed beard. So wherever possible I strongly suggest cutting up or tearing these foods into smaller pieces which will make your life much easier when snacking on your favourite grub.

IS SPAGHETTI NOODLES AND PASTA OFF THE MENU?

Let's be honest, with or without an epic beard these foods can prove a rather messy challenge to eat. Here's how i chomp down my favourite noodles - carefully! Twirl up that spaghetti bolognese chopping off any danglers there maybe. Then with extra care and using your free hand move aside any beard or mustache that may be in the way and enjoy your much deserved nosh!

HOW ABOUT HOT DRINKS? SODAS AND MILKSHAKES?

Diving right into your beverage of choice will almost certainly give your mustache a undesired dunkin'. When out and about I'd suggest a travel cup lid, or a straw for a colder drink. You can even purchase for a couple of quid a 'beard-dam' which acts as a barrier to place over the top of your glass/cup keeping your tash nice and dry.

And if all else fails, Don't worry! No matter how careful we are sometimes getting a little of whatever you're eating or drinking on your face is unavoidable. In the comfort of your own home, heck! who cares! whilst commuting just think smart and carry an extra napkin or handy wipe that'll have you covered for any spillages that might happen.
