What make a man great? Men throughout history have been revered for their Leadership qualities. The greatest leaders among them were denoted with traits imbued with Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selflessness, Honor, Integrity, Personal Courage (LDRSHIP). They were the personification of notoriety, expression, refinement, vision, and equality (NERVE). Most importantly, a vast majority had beards. Now I am not saying to be great you need to have a beard. However, great leaders, and ones who I have always revered had some nerve. I consistently remark how beards imbue qualities of dominance, assertion, and resolve. Now, I am going to prove to you, through history that beards have power. From Otto the Great, to Abraham Lincoln, and then to Karl Marx, these men definitely personified Leadership and nerve.

The Holy Roman emperor Otto I (912-973), also known as “Otto the Great”, was deemed the most powerful western European ruler after Charlemagne. He organized a strong German state and expanded his authority over Burgundy and Italy. He is credited with inspiring learning and culture ushering the Ottonian Renaissance.

Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. He is also known as one of the most well-known leaders of all time. If you pick up any respected piece of literature denoting great leaders and leaders of quality his name will most likely be mentioned. He is most well-known for his determination, persistence, beliefs and courage. He is most notorious for h style of beard. Abraham Lincoln was a man who ushered domestic prosperity, international relations, and preservation of the Union.

Karl Marx

Karl Marx

Karl Marx is most known for being the Father of Modern Communism, among other exploits that looked great in theory, yet failed in execution. Karl, was considered by many as greatest Social, Political, and Economic Philosopher of all time. Another great thing Marx jointly accomplished for was to create the international workingmen's association. This group had 800,000 members at its peak until 1876 when it was disbanded because of civil unrest amongst group members.
