When we first decide to grow out a beard we often go forth without seeking little to any grooming tips and advice. Then as our beard game improves you may find the occasional problem that you'll hit Google to search out a solution for. One of these problem areas you might question is 'How do I keep my beard from drying out?'. This is often something most bearded men will experience as your facial forest becomes longer. And there are some simple to follow pointers to help keep your beard-mane as soft as a pillow and in tip top condition too. So, today here are some Easy To Follow Steps On How To Help Keep That Beard Soft And Healthy...

BE CONSIDERATE TO THE LOVED ONE WHO KISSES THAT FURRY FACE!

Ask most partners who have never kissed a bearded face what their number one reservation is and more often than not they'll highlight their concerns about kissing a prickly uncomfortable face forever more. Truth be told beards are not near as uncomfortable to kiss then you may first think (Not that I've ever kissed a bearded face! Honest!). 'But after just a day or two those facial bristles hurt like hell?' I hear them say, yet as the facial hair grows it becomes less irritable to touch and feel, in turn making things much more pleasant along the way. There is however other tips you can follow to keep your beard as soft as can be throughout its growing journey. First being to keep that face clean and those hairs tidy with a soft shampoo and conditioner. Now other beardy professionals may suggest washing your beard each and every day as part of your day to day routine. Whereas I would strongly suggest you don't overwash your facial gruff, as this can actually do more long term harm than good. Your facial hair produces a natural oil that helps provide you face with moisture helping protect your facial hair as it grows. If you use shampoo and conditioners each day you'll begin to strip those oils from your beard which could actually heighten your beards dry and itchiness moving forward. I suggest washing with such products only twice a week (three at a push!) being sure to rinse relly well accordingly. Then keep your beard dirt free with a simple deep rinse with water during your shower time in between.

KEEP THAT AWESOME BEARD NICELY TAMED NOW!

Keeping your beards directional growth under control is paramount to your beards overall health. Combing/brushing will help with this process. Combing often helps keep beard knotting at bay. As I have discussed in many previous blog posts using the right tools and remembering not to over brush also plays a large role here too. May I suggest using a wide tooth comb for a little extra comfort and less chance of your beard snagging when brushing too.

USING THE RIGHT OILS AND BALMS IS KEY TO YOUR BEARDS SUCCESS!

You will more often than not read me suggesting that you find yourself a high quality beard balm and oil to use each day to help improve your beards overall health and well being. I, of course highly recommend our own 'The Beard Struggle' premium products range as I can speak from a personal perspective as to how beneficial these products are. But using beard oils help to keep your beard well hydrated throughout it's growing journey. A lot like the hair on your head (If you haven't got any these days then simply ask your better half how important this is!) your beard hairs and the skin beneath need to remain well hydrated at all times to help eliminate beard dryness which can then cause severe brittle hairs that can easily break to cause a neverending amount of ugly split ends.

So, In short keep that beard taken care of with your chosen beard oils and/or balms to help promote your beard at its absolute best.
