I must say, I do rather enjoy flicking through our readers messages, be it on Twitter, Facebook or through our email. It is always nice to recieve your thoughts, comments and feedback so we can continue to provide you with the content you'd like to see.

Not only do we get awesome mail from you guys, but we also get some rather interesting questions and theories, ones much like today's blog topic, that I would like to dive right into and discuss in a little more detail as we Discuss 3 Myths About Our Facial Hair Once And For all...

BEARDS ARE FULL OF ALL KINDS OF NASTIES!

Sadly, we do not have to search all that far to find some sort of 'BS horror story' that labels our facial hair as dirt ridden filth storers, when in fact this is just simply not the case.

Remember that whole 'poop in your beard' story that circulated around your social media timelines that you were tagged in by every Tom, Dick and Harry? (A very British saying, you should Google this!) Well, in a previous 'The Beard Struggle' blog post of ours we rightfully debugged that horrific story as nothing more that bullsh*t hear say.

What is important to remember is the health and well being of our face fluff comes down to each man and his beard, when personal hygiene is key to maintaining a dirt free clean furry face.

Washing, grooming, applying a little beard oil and balm each day is key to your whiskers health and wellbeing. Fact.

BEARDS CONSTANTLY ITCH AND ARE ANNOYING!

Do beards itch? in the early growing stages of growing they do indeed, but that is only one short lived step of the journey, which usually only lasts for a few weeks if you are lucky.

Of course, you might get the odd itch every now and again, and if you should trigger a skin condition this might need medical assistance to clear. Following a good grooming routine should eliminate all that. But in short facial hair isn't all that itchy, and is most certainly not uncomfortable or annoying to have. In fact i personally find my beard to be rather warm and welcoming sat upon my face. And would I do without it? Never. Just ask any beardsmen and I am almost certain they would also agree with that statement.

SHAVING OFF YOUR BEARD WILL MAKE IT GROW BACK THICKER, FULLER AND FASTER!

Nope, nope and more nope. This is one of those 'old wives tales' that amazes me is still believed to this day.

So, the idea is, if you shave off your beard it will grow back thicker, fuller and somewhat faster, but take it from me this is not at all how these things work.

If you shave off your beard all you are essentially doing is playing a long winded losing game of snakes and ladders. All that hard work, time and patience placed into growing out that beard would have been for nothing.

Now, I'm not saying never get your face fuzz trimmed, because of course a light trim every now and again is highly beneficial to your face fur, as this will remove any split dead ends and other troublesome areas you may have, whilst giving you a fuller beard complexion with a more defined shape. But shaving off your face forest in its entirety seems like a wasted cause to me folks, and one I would never suggest you do.

That sees another blog come to a sweet end for today my furry faced friends and fuzzy admirers. If you would like to get in touch let we highly encourage you do so! You can leave us a little something in the comments section you'll find below, or you can find us on Facebook, Twitter and of course Instagram, as well as me, myself and I!
