BEARD STRUGGLES - BEARD MYTHS DEBUNKED PART 3

I've always enjoyed discovering new 'beardy' facts and love debugging some of the madness that can be easily discovered on the world wide interwebs regarding our wonderful furry chops. 'Beard Myths Debunked Part 1' & 'Beard Myths Debunked Part 2' were a lot of fun to write so todays blog is the long awaited trilogy post - 'Beard Struggles' - Beard Myths Debunked Part 3'...

BEARDS THAT DON'T GROW EVEN WON'T LOOK GOOD!

I've been asked on more than one occasion why when first growing out a beard certain areas of facial hair appear to grow at different stages. Your beards length, strength, growth rate and colour are all predetermined in your bodies gene pool. But worry not, given more time your beard will indeed catch up with its growing self and even out to a fuller looking beard to be proud of soon enough. All in good time, Brother. All in good time.

YOUR BEARD WILL GROW AS LONG AS YOU ALLOW IT TO GROW!

Going back to your genetics it is believed your beard already has it's growing potential length predetermined. Now many would argue beards come in all different shapes and sizes, but on average a beard takes between two to three years to reach it's length prime. This is not to say you can't aid your beards growth rate by leading a healthy lifestyle and beard care resume. But long before that first whisker even sprouted out of your face your beard already had it's plans figured out. Pretty neat, right?

I'M IN MY TWENTIES AND MY BEARD STILL DOESN'T GROW HOW IT SHOULD!

Your beard will continue to improve and grow well into your 30's and sometimes even your 40's. There is no 'right time' for your beard to flourish into that wonderful beard-mane you desire. It again comes down to maintaining a healthy beard care routine and continuing having a whole heap of patience.

IF I GROW A BEARD I'LL LOOK NOTHING LIKE MY DRIVERS LICENCE OR PASSPORT PHOTOS!

When you first grow out a beard, be it thick and full or small and tamed you'll often look back on old photos and hardly recognise the person you see in front of you in the picture. For me it's my wedding photos. As memorable as that day was for myself and my beautiful wife, I can't help but wish I had began my beard journey before hand. My big ol' naked moon face will forever be framed around the home walls for everyone to see. When it comes to official documentation such as your passport and/or drivers licence you'll probably assume that when requested to produce these the officials wont be able to determine that it is you. Believe me, I worried bout this too. But these guys are pros and see literally thousands of photos week in week out and know what to look out for. So, in short your new beard will not cause you any problems as you go about your business.

Well, that wraps up another beard blog post for today, as always let us know your thoughts in the comments section below! I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have also!
