Hello once more to our fellow bearded brothers and beardy admirers. Today I'm going to discuss with you all a short list of bearding 'Dos and Don'ts' to make your neverending facial forest journey as pleasant as can be! So without further ado, here's the do's and dont's to bearding...

DO KEEP YOUR BEARD CLEAN AND FOOD FREE.

In the earlier stages of growing out your beard it is very easy to overlook these few words of advice. But as the beard life journey continues it soon becomes clear that keeping a clean face of facial fluff is key to your beards health and appearance. Remember, beard-druff is real. so keep it clean! When eating certain foods you'll find the odd few crumbs and food matter can easily become tangled in your beard-mane which can go unnoticed, that is until your better half points out your eating error or even worse a work colleague or member of the public. So, be sure to keep those beards clean, and keep an eye on what you eat. After all a messy facial mush is never attractive.

DON'T LET YOUR BEARD GROW WILD AND FREE.

Much like the previous advice, be sure to keep that man beard in check. Even if you fully intend to grow out the biggest beard in history, a few simple tips can actually make that monster of a beard look even longer. Keep your beard combed regularly to keep knotting down to a minimum, and apply generous amounts of TBS balm/oils each day to help your beard stay strong and serve you well.

DO KEEP YOUR SIDEBURNS NEAT AND TIDY.

It can prove a tricky task when coming to shaping your beard, but i do advice you either seek a professional barber to help thin out your sideburns or tread extra careful and trim them yourself. I now choose to keep mine in order with my own hands and a trusty pair of barbershop scissors. Rather than pull out a handful of side beard and chop i advice you start with just a tiny pinch and slowly work your way to your desired length, combing through as you go.

DON'T DO ANYTHING YOU'LL INSTANTLY REGRET.

Sounds a little silly when you first read that sentence, but please PLEASE do not do something that you may instantly regret. For example trimming your beard down a little or even worse shaving it off completely! I've had many folks reach out to me expressing their own upset after a trimming disaster or a moment of madness where they've shaved off their beards to unveil a unrecognizable version of their former self. I've spoke in better detail in a former 'beardlog' post, but after a trimming disaster myself i an completely relate to this mistake being made. My only advice is if you're having thoughts of tapering that beard you've worked hard on growing these past many months or maybe years please give it some serious consideration before following up on such dramatic actions. And no matter how much thought you've given it; Never; I repeat NEVER EVER ATTEMPT TO TRIM THAT BEAUTIFUL BEARD WHILST INTOXICATED!! As i can 100% guarantee you this will never end pretty.

Well, that's another fun 'Beardlog' post wrapped up for this week! Thanks for taking the time to stop by and read!

And until next time, Beard on Brothers, Beard on...
