4 TIPS ON HOW BOTH YOU AND YOUR BEARD CAN SURVIVE A SUDDEN HEAT WAVE

Some of you bearded Brothers out there who live in much hotter climates than I do are probably used to the beaming down heatwaves that burst out of the sun most days.

But if like me, you happen to be British living in England and wake up to be greeted by a mini heatwave in May you might find yourself at a loss with how to cope with it all.

So, today, taking both you and your facial hair into consideration I wanted to highlight a few simple tricks of the trade that will see both you and your face fluff survive even the hottest of temperatures to grow on for another day...

KEEP YOURSELF SUPER HYDRATED!

I don't mean to sound like a overly caring parent when I say this, but keeping yourself well hydrated when the heat kicks into play is critical to keep you in good standing.

Nine times out of ten heatstroke is caused mostly by poor hydration (dehydration), which can form into all sorts of short term health complications, and in some cases can cause you to pass out.

Keeping your fluid levels topped up nicely with keep you well, and a happy man = a happier beard.

WASH THAT FACE BUSH OF YOURS A LITTLE MORE OFTEN!

I have stressed the importance to not over wash your fuzzy face in previous blog topics, and I do still stand by the importance of doing so.

But when the hotter months kick into action it's pretty important to keep your face clean as well as those whiskers that are sprouting out from it.

Now, this doesn't mean you should over-wash using shampoos and conditioners, but simply wash through your face fluff each day with a nice cool blast of fresh water, then wash it again the next, alternating back and forth as you go.

This way everything will keep nice cool, washing away any excess sweat in the process.

DO NOT FORGET TO USE SUNSCREEN!

Ok, so we don't have all that much face on display since flourishing out a marvelous furry face forest, but that doesn't mean your face is protected 100% of the time from UV rays.

There's no harm in taking care of the little bit of face you do have on display as well as your neck, arms and legs (if you're wearing shorts, that is!)

Don't be a dope, and protect the skin you are in with a light application of sunscreen/lotion. Because after all, it is much better to be safe than sorry later on in life.

A LITTLE EXTRA MOISTURIZING COULD ALSO HELP!

We have covered the importance of keeping hydrated, and stress how much we should protect our beard and keep it clean. Now it's time to think about what product we should be using to protect our facial hair growth from being dried up and killed in the heated sun.

Firstly, you gotta think practical here, don't be tempted to buy a cheaper knock off brand of beard oils or a dodgy batch of balm just because the price tag was extra appealing. This is your beard we are talking about after all.

You wouldn't buy a Ferrari and take it to ''sloppy Joes wheels'' (Sorry, Joe!) for a service would you? You'd want to take it into a garage that specializes in that particular make of car, not cut corners to save a buck or two. So why should your beard care routine be any different? In truth, it shouldn't!
