Hello all, and welcome once again to our beard blog, a direct source for tried and tested tips, tricks and hacks to better both you and your facial hair as you continue growing on forward.

I'm not sure what weather you may be experiencing just recently, but where I'm from the snow has begun to kick in and black ice has started to form over on our roads, making things pretty tricky to commute as we usually would. So much so we have seen public transport come to a complete stand still so far, with more to follow.

Today, I wanted to take the 'winter snap' into deep consideration as I wrote today's blog filled with words of advice, and offer you all, our loyal readers as well as a our new ones a handful of tried and tested tricks, as we begin today's topic which is smartly titled - 4 Tried Tips On How To Protect Your Beard From The Winter Elements...

KEEP WRAPPED UP AND WARM WHENEVER POSSIBLE!

When the weather outside is frightful, you might want to consider wrapping up your whiskers either in the hood of your coat/hoodie, or within a cosy scarf for which should provide a little warmth in the process.

The reason you'll not want your fuzz to get caught short in the snow, bitter wind, wet and cold this winter is because it can have rather devastating results if this should happen on a regular basis. Your facial hair will naturally produce moisture from your skin, although usually on rather low levels, hence why we find better results using oils and balms, and the winter snap can wipe that out in a matter of short minutes. So, keeping wrapped up will slow down the process, and keep you warm and cosy from the winter blues too.

USE YOUR BEARD OIL AFTER YOUR DAILY COMMUTE!

Here's a trick I learned only just recently myself. Before a few weeks ago I would apply my beard oil or balm first thing in the morning following taking a a nice hot shower, then head outside ready to face the day ahead like a bearded boss. Now, what I have learned since then is doing so can see your beard stripped of your product should it rain, sleet or snow, leaving you and your beard right back at square one.

What I now do is apply a small touch of product before leaving the house, and then when I get to my destination later than morning I apply a little more, which grants your fuzz better coverage too. As let's face it, there's nothing worse than getting caught out on the rain and cold right after taking care of your face forest, as this can cause all sorts of problems none of us have counted for.

ALWAYS KEEP A BEARD COMB & BRUSH CLOSE BY!

Aha! the trusty beard comb strikes once again in our blog, and exactly when it is needed too! The truth be told I never step foot outside of my front door without having my 'TBS' V Comb in my pocket. And it has indeed come in real handy at some of the strangest of times.

If you get caught out in the rain your beard can look like messy wet towel slapped on your face with no shape or style to it whatsoever. Then, suddenly you remember you have your trusty comb in hand to save the day, and give you back control and style to your bushy wet mess of a beard.

Trust me, purchasing yourself a sturdy beard comb might just be one of the smartest moves you could make, just be sure to avoid plastic combs where possible, as they can often pull at you hairs rather than detangle your beard, which isn't all that pretty and rather painful too.

TRY TO FOLLOW YOUR BEARD GROOMING ROUTINE AS NORMAL AS POSSIBLE, COME RAIN, SNOW, SLEET OR SHINE!

So, winter shouldn't completely throw us off our stride, and a little normality is always good when it comes to our day to day routines, beard care of cause being one of these.

If you have a tried and tested beard care routine then stick with this as much as possible, thankfully these bitter cold months don't last very long and things will soon defrost, beards and all. So, keep your face fur clean with beard washes and conditioners, stay fresh with oils, balms and butters and always have a beard comb and/or brush at hand, it's as simple as that!

That sees out today's blog come to a close for now my friends. As ever be sure to leave your thoughts and feedback in the comments section provided below.
