It appears scientists will debate just about any given subject these days in order to conduct important studies that almost nobody ever has given much thought to whatsoever. Although this little beauty of a tail recently appeared on my Twitter timeline after noticing the hashtag #BestBeard had begun trending on the social media platform this week. After a little further investigating through numerous quirky tweets, it soon became clear that the hashtag was being associated with the animal kingdom, and in particular those who pack the most impressive face full of fluff from all creatures great and small. So, fresh from your tweets and in the spirit of 'all things bearded' I wanted to bring you 4 Of The Very Best Beards Within The Animal Kingdom...

THE HAIRY YET EVER HANDSOME BEARDED PIG!

Taking a look at this handsome fellow it's clear to see that Mr Bacon is most certainly rather proud of his glorious face full of whiskers. Is that a cheeky little smile I see upon his porky face? Either way, I can't help but wonder what a splash of our new 'TBS' Viking range beard oil would do for him and his wispy whiskers!

As soon as my wife spotted this guy in my #BestBeard shortlist she was quick to instantly fire a joke at my expense of our apparent uncanny reselbelmence. I must say, I took it more as a compliment if I'm honest, after all he is a rather handsome chappy it has to be said. This guy is clearly a regular loyal customer of ours, as his beard game is on point!

Now, look at this cheeky furry tree swinging motherfudger! Is it wrong of me to have mustache envy? because that's an impressive and rather maHOOsive tash he's packing considering how little this guy is! Here's hoping the females dig facial hair in the animal world as much as us humans do, because this guy packs all the right tools to catch the eye of any possible female mates.

IN THE JUNGLE, THE FURRY JUNGLE, THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT!

It wouldn't be right of us to conduct a list of animals who pack the greatest beards of all time without putting our strong, proud and rather majestic Lion in the spotlight. Whenever you envision a powerful, protective animal, you'll almost instantly think of the Lion being one of the most popular choices that jumps to mind, and rightfully so. Male lions begin growing their manes around the age of 2 to 3 years old. It marks the males sexual maturity whilst attracting the attention from any possible females who might be interested in mating for possible offspring. And let's be honest, his beard is something any 'beardy' would be proud of owning!
