4 INTERESTING FACTS I'VE LEARNED ABOUT OUR BEARDS

Since I first started writing content for 'The Beard Struggle' with our daily blog, I have learned some rather fascinating facts about our beloved furry facial forests. As you can imagine these sort of subjects often leave your head filled to the rim with a whole host of newfound knowledge that I thought I would share with you in todays blog post, smartly titled 4 Interesting Fact I've Learned About Our Beards...

IF LEFT UNATTENDED A MAN'S BEARD CAN GROW TRIPLE THE BEHOLDERS HEIGHT!

It is believed that if a man never entertained the idea of shaving nor did he ever consider trimming his facial hair in his entire life his beard would grow almost three times the length of the beholders body. As you can imagine, this was a rather random 'beardy' fact to stumble across, but after a little digging for clearer research it is indeed believed to be very much a true fact.

As men grow older and somewhat wiser it is said his facial hair continues to grow long into old age and beyond. In fact even in death a human's entire body hair and nails continue to grow for several weeks after death. I mean, how interestingly gross is that?


BEARDS WORK AS THE PERFECT SUN SHADE TOO!

You might have read in a previous blog post or two of mine that a man's facial hair acts as a form of protection from the sun's harmful UV rays, and this idea is very much proven to be true. Now I'm not suggesting that facial hair should be used as the only protection to keep you face protected in the summer months, but what I do know is your beard will serve as the perfect sun shade for your face to sit safely behind.

And in doing so you can kiss goodbye to sun burn and a peeling face, well for the most part anyway, but please don't be a dummy, and always use sunblock as and when required to do so, as your health comes first and foremost.

THE AVERAGE BEARD CONSISTS OF A STAGGERING 32,000 WHISKERS!

Yes, your eyes read that correctly. If you had a telescopic microscope, and a ton of time on your hands then began counting your facial hairs one by one, it is believed that around a whopping 32,000+ hairs make up that magical man-mane of yours. Just think, 32,000+ hairs have worked tirelessly around the clock to pierce their way through your face to form and take shape as what we know as a beard, it is no wonder that so many of us have such a hellish time of the dreaded 'beard itching' phase.

FACIAL HAIR GROWS FASTER IN THE SUMMER!

Whilst the most of us (not me, I'm a shade loving ginger!) enjoy the hot sweaty summer heated months it seems so do our beards, with reports suggesting that just like a sunflower in the summer sun, our facial hair actually grows much faster in the heat. Whilst that might sound like some sort of witchcraft it is indeed believed to be true.

But with all that extra time you'll now be spending in the sun encouraging your whiskers to grow out it's just as important to remember to protect both you and your face fuzz from the heavy heat waves, and how? By treating yourself to a little beard oil and balm to keep things in tip top condition, of course.
