'Let's talk about about beards, baby, let's talk about you and me, let's talk about all the good things and all the bad things that maybe, let's talk about beards'....
Extra kudos to you if you recognise the slightly edited above paragraph from a rather cheesy 90's dance track. Today let's discuss a few things that you might be getting totally wrong when it comes to taking care of our face fluff, with today's topic being titled 3 Mistakes You Might Be Making When It Comes To Beard Care...
USING OVER THE COUNTER SHAMPOOS AND CONDITIONERS!
I know I know, I do often mention the importance of the above sentence in so many of my blogs than were written long before this one, but it is because it's a pretty important pointer to follow in order to not unintentionally harm your beloved facial hair.
The reason for this being is that your standard shop bought shampoos and conditioners, like Head & Shoulders, often have much higher levels of chemicals that are designed to strip out any dirt and grime build up from the hair upon your head, NOT the stuff that grows upon your face.
So whilst you might find the short term results you were looking for, being a fresh, clean beard, it'll only be a matter of time before you begin to notice bad facial hair health, such as dry itching areas, higher levels of split ends and possibly thinning, poorer facial hair quality and growth.
CHOOSING TO NOT USE BALMS, BUTTERS AND OILS!
So, your sharp facial hair has reached a certain age and length with little to no need of any 'hocus pocus' balms or 'magical growth potions' so far, right?
But if you continue to opt out of using beard oils and balms, the chances are your luck is about to run dry. As without a little sufficient TLC you will soon be greeted by dry, brittle weaker than normal hair, which will soon cause you a whole heap of issues growing on forward. My advice? Take a little time each day to take good care of your beard correctly now for a smooth growing game moving on forth.
NOT COMBING YOUR FACIAL HAIR WON'T DO YOU ANY FAVOURS EITHER!
I was amazed after speaking with a guy from an old place of work of mine just recently, after he confessed he didn't take all that much time if any at all to comb or brush his facial hair. On closer inspection it was clear he had tried cutting a few corners along the way when it comes to taking care of his face fuzz, as knots and tangles were just about everywhere and clearly visible when I began looking for them.
Taking a few moments each morning and evening to brush and comb through your beard will detangle your fuzz giving you optimal results in the process. Doing so will also grant a much smoother, equal coverage of whatever beard care product you might be using. So, in short think of the long term bigger picture when it comes to beard care 101.
Thats another 'The Beard Struggle' blog coming to a close for today guys, as always if you have something you'd like to add or would just like to leave us your thoughts and feedback then please be sure to do so in the comments section you'll find provided below.
